Settlement Ends Beach Boy Feud: Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson has agreed to pay the band’s singer, Mike Love, $5 million in cash and to split future royalties on 35 songs with his cousin. Love, who was smiling broadly in court, said the agreement also settled a longstanding dispute that kept the songwriting team from rejoining forces. At a hearing, U.S. District Judge William Rea approved the settlement that ended litigation between the members of the quintessential Southern California pop band. Love, 53, prevailed last week in a lawsuit, in which he alleged his name was left off copyright applications and songwriting agreements for the nearly three dozen tunes he said he helped co-write.
