Rockwell’s Iacobellis to Retire: Sam F. Iacobellis, the man who managed the construction of the leading Cold War fighter jet, the B-1 bomber, said he will retire at the end of March as deputy chairman for major projects of Seal Beach-based Rockwell International Corp. Iacobellis, 65, will work as a consultant for Rockwell on key government contracts and will continue representing the company as a member of various civic and charitable groups. The company has been working toward a smooth transition. Iacobellis, who has been with Rockwell for 42 years, was promoted to deputy chairman of the aerospace and defense company 18 months ago, in part to help Kent Black, his successor as chief operating officer.
