SIMI VALLEY : Children’s Clinic to Move to Courthouse
The Children’s Program of the Simi Valley Mental Health Center will move in February to the East County Courthouse in Simi Valley, Supervisor Vicky Howard has announced.
The clinic, now housed in an adult mental health facility on Los Angeles Avenue, will move next to other children’s services at the courthouse. The move will enable the mental health team--a psychologist, a physician and two psychiatric social workers--to work more closely with other agencies.
“This is just another step in building a comprehensive, one-stop service for children and adolescents,” Howard said.
The courthouse at 3855-F Alamo St. also houses the county Public Social Services Agency, including its children’s services section, the child-support unit of the district attorney’s office, a public defender’s office and the Building and Safety Department.
