CAMARILLO : Malathion Spraying Scheduled Tuesday
Weather permitting, the sixth aerial spraying of malathion will be conducted Tuesday over a 16-square-mile section of eastern Camarillo, state and federal agriculture officials said.
The three helicopters are scheduled to lift off from Camarillo Airport at 10 p.m. for what is expected to be a four-hour mission, said Larry Hawkins, a spokesman for the Cooperative Medfly Project.
Beginning next month, Hawkins said, the helicopters will resume their normal 9 p.m. takeoff time. Agriculture officials pushed back the departure time one hour this month to accommodate late-night holiday shoppers.
