Pacific Mutual Picks New President: The Newport Beach-based life insurance company has named Glenn S. Schafer, 45, as president. Schafer, who has been executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company since 1991, will also become a member of the board of directors. The position of president has been vacant since 1989, when Thomas C. Sutton was promoted to chairman and chief executive officer.
