Satellite Technology Management Inc.: The company said Thursday that it has received a $1-million contract from the Brazilian phone company, Telebras.

Irvine-based Satellite Technology Management will enhance a network in the northeastern state of Bahia to extend cellular service to areas with poor telephone service.

The project is an enhancement to a satellite telephone network installed in Bahia by Satellite Technology in 1993.
