Paper Delivery

Share

Too bad Kathleen Pullan of Torrance (letter, Dec. 30) doesn’t receive the dedicated, well-aimed and plastic-wrapped delivery service of The Times as I do.

I look forward to retrieving the paper at 4 a.m. when I get up, and in the cold and dark admire the ambition of the carrier who most probably supplements his income with this second job.

When we first moved to Westlake Village six years ago, I discovered that a retired lady ran the route. Delivering the paper to my entry on the day it snowed (Feb. 8, 1989) exemplified her dedication. I’ll always remember seeing the tire tracks in the snow up my driveway and having only to reach down at the doorstep for the paper.
