Theater Club to Discuss Plans

Members of the Leisure World Imagination Theater Club will discuss plans for a musical performance in May at their next meeting at 10 a.m. Jan. 19, in Northwood Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Plans for the group’s next play will also be discussed, and a theater group outing will be planned. The group put on two variety productions in 1994 that were shown locally on cable television. Membership is $4 for singles and $6 for couples.

Center Offers New Activities

The Senior Center is offering a host of new activities for the coming year, according to Senior Center Supervisor Betty Goyne.

Bingo games will now be offered three times a week--Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays--from 12:45 to 2:30 p.m. Three line-dancing classes are taking place Wednesdays and Thursdays. The fee is $1 per class.

A six-week photography workshop will start Wednesday. It is being offered free of charge, but participants must bring their own camera and film.

Support groups also will be organized for care-givers and patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. The Alzheimer’s support group will meet on the last Wednesday of each month, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Members of the Parkinson’s support group will meet for the first time Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to noon.

3 Features Scheduled for Movie Mavens

Thursday usually is free movie day at the Westminster Senior Center. However, on Friday, “Beethoven 2nd” will be shown at 10 a.m. Upcoming January movies are “Ace Ventura, Pet Detective” (Jan. 19) and “Grumpy Old Men” (Jan. 26).

Free legal assistance is offered to Orange County seniors from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Los Alamitos Community Center. Appointments are
