“Southern California Careers,” a special section on the trends shaping our work lives, will appear Monday as Part II of Business.

The section will examine one of the fastest-growing trends in the work force: professionals who work part time by choice. Burdened with too many demands and too little time, these professionals are cutting their workweeks--and their paychecks--to buy back time for themselves and their families.
