DANA POINT : First-Time Home Buyer Assistance Is Offered
- Share via
The city has launched a first-time home buyers program.
Under the program, the county will issue mortgage credit certificates to qualified participants. The certificates help reduce federal taxes and increase a prospective buyer’s take-home pay and chances of obtaining financing for a house or condominium.
To participate in the program, households with one to two people must have an income below $58,800. For households with three or more people, household income must be below $67,620.
Existing homes to be considered for the program cannot cost more than $217,456, and new homes cannot sell for more than $229,883.
There are also other requirements and restrictions. The mortgage certificates will be issued to qualified households on a first-come, first-served basis. Certificates are limited and will be issued until funds are exhausted.
For more information, contact the county’s Housing and Redevelopment office at (714) 480-2900.
