GE Will Build Gas Turbines for Russia: GE Power Systems, a unit of General Electric Co., and AOOT Kirovsky Zavod of St. Petersburg, Russia, said they intend to assemble and manufacture heavy-duty gas turbines for the Russian market. The joint venture, to be based in St. Petersburg, will be 70%-owned by GE and 30%-owned by Kirovsky Zavod. General Electric is based in Fairfield, Conn. GE Power Systems said the venture is taking orders in the first half of this year for deliveries in 1996.
