Kia Rolls Out More Modest Vehicle: Kia Motors America said it will bring a two-wheel-drive version of its Sportage utility vehicle to the United States in April and will boost the power--and price--of its four-wheel-drive models with a new engine.

Suggested base price for the 94-horsepower, two-wheel-drive model will be $13,995.

The more powerful engine in the basic four-wheel-drive Sportage--at 139-horsepower--will raise its base price by $800 to $15,295. It will add $700 for the upscale Sportage EX, which now will have a sticker price of $16,195. Air conditioning would add $900 to each model.
