Police have issued a no-bail warrant for a man they say has stalked his estranged wife and is suspected of setting fire to her house on Feb. 6.

The man, Victor R. Martinez, 41, has a history of violence toward his wife and is the subject of numerous restraining orders, according to Sgt. Dann Bean.

“Mr. Martinez is wanted in connection with the continued threats, assaults and taunting associated with the ongoing domestic violence against his wife for the past several months during their separation,” Bean said.

Bean said arson investigators believe Martinez set his wife’s house on fire, causing an estimated $50,000 damage. Neither Martinez’s wife nor his children were home at the time.

“We feel he’s so dangerous that he needs a no-bail warrant” Bean said.

Martinez drives a beige, 1987 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, license plate 3H38954, Bean said. Anyone with information regarding Martinez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department at (714) 965-4483.
