Northrop Grumman Posts Loss: The Los Angeles-based aerospace concern, citing one-time charges related to major job cutbacks last fall, said it lost $121 million in the fourth quarter, compared with a year-earlier loss of $35 million. The latest loss reflected $324 million in pretax charges related to an early retirement program offered last September, when the company announced plans to slash 8,650 jobs, and to plant consolidations and the disposal of excess real estate. For the year, Northrop Grumman’s profit fell to $35 million, or 72 cents a share, from $96 million, or $1.99 a share, in 1993. Its annual sales rose to $6.7 billion from $5.1 billion.
