WORLD IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : Cabinet Approves Settlement Growth

Israel’s Cabinet approved the expansion of three settlements around Jerusalem in a move that could further upset peace talks with Palestinians. The program involves building 1,800 housing units. Meanwhile, Israel let in the first 900 Palestinian workers since it imposed a closure on the West Bank and Gaza Strip over an Arab suicide attack in Israel a month ago.
