Police are investigating a robbery at a Fountain Valley credit union in which thieves escaped with nearly $14,000.
Three gunmen entered the Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union in the 18600 block of Brookhurst Street about 11:30 a.m. Friday and ordered everyone to the floor, said Sgt. Paul McInnis of the Fountain Valley Police Department.
As one gunman stood by the door, the other two forced one of the employees to open the vault, and put $13,900 into a black garbage bag, McInnis said.
The thieves then left the bank and got into a blue sedan, which later was found to have been stolen. After abandoning the sedan, they got into a minivan with writing from an Asian language on the side, McInnis said.
The gunmen are described as black men in their 20s with short hair and baggy clothing. Police have no suspects and are continuing to investigate the robbery, McInnis said.
