LOS ANGELES : Gang Member Gets 14 Years for Shooting Student
A gang member was sentenced to 14 years in prison Tuesday in the 1993 attempted murder of a Dorsey High School student.
Bryant Boyd, 19, pleaded guilty earlier this year to shooting Glenn Browne, then 15, in the chest as he registered for the first day of classes.
Prosecutors said Browne, who was in the hallway when he was shot, was simply a bystander who got caught in the line of fire between Boyd and a rival gang member.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James A. Bascue sentenced Boyd after a brief hearing.
