NATION IN BRIEF : ARKANSAS : Whitewater Case Suspect Enters Plea

A former bank president pleaded not guilty to charges by Whitewater prosecutors that he hid large withdrawals by Bill Clinton’s 1990 gubernatorial campaign. Neal T. Ainley, former president of Perry County Bank in Perryville, Ark., was freed without bond. His trial was set for April 10 in U.S. District Court. Ainley would not comment to reporters. Independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr, who is running the Whitewater investigation, also refused to comment except to say that he expected the trial to last three days.
