Lillian Vernon Stock Soars on Possible Sale: Shares of the specialty catalogue retailer rose sharply after it said it is exploring strategic alternatives, including a sale of the company. On Friday the firm’s stock ended up $3.25 to $21.375 on the American Stock Exchange. The New York-based company sells gift, household, personal use and children’s items through catalogues.
