Restrictions on U.S. Farm Goods to Be Eased: In tough negotiations over access to its huge markets, China agreed to apply international health standards when judging whether agricultural products can be imported, U.S. trade officials said. China has restricted American fruit, wheat, tobacco, livestock and other agricultural imports as potentially diseased or pest-ridden--claims U.S. officials say are unfair. Washington, meanwhile, will consider Chinese demands to join the new World Trade Organization under easier rules for developing countries.
