Even the team with the NBA’s best record couldn’t slow down the Utah Jazz.

Karl Malone scored 27 points Tuesday and John Stockton had 18 points, 18 assists and eight rebounds as the Jazz defeated the Orlando Magic, 107-95, at Orlando, Fla., for its ninth consecutive victory.

Utah Coach Jerry Sloan was low key after the Jazz (47-16) handed the Magic (48-15) its second home loss in 34 games this season and ended Orlando’s 11-game home winning streak.

“This is one ballgame,” Sloan said. “I said coming in here that win or lose, you can’t put your entire season into one game.”
