Court Blocks FCC Wireless Auction: The federal agency said it will fight an order by the U.S. Court of Appeals to stop a coming auction limited to small firms, minorities and female bidders. The court acted as a result of a lawsuit filed by Telephone Electronics Corp., a Jackson, Miss.-based company that is too big under the Federal Communications Commission’s bidding rules. Bidders with revenue in excess of $125 million are excluded from the auction of airwaves. Telephone Electronics claims it qualifies because its revenue, excluding those of affiliates, falls below the limit.
