Master’s Wins in NAIA Tournament
The Master’s made its first 11 shots in the second half and rolled to an 86-72 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma in the first round of the NAIA tournament Wednesday night.
The Mustangs (30-4) trailed 38-35 at halftime, but Doug Leamon made two three-pointers and a jumper just inside the line, and Leo Gorauskas made two layups and two short jumpers during a 24-6 run that finally ended when James Mosley’s 15-foot jumper barely drew iron.
In the meantime, the Bulldogs (20-12) went cold.
Mike Penberthy had 21 points for The Master’s, which will face Central Washington tonight.
