Graffiti

* I was enthused and in full agreement with Peter H. King’s column (March 19) about the ban of spray paint statewide, border to border until I reached the next to the last paragraph concerning the reference to the Mexican border.

Graffiti is not confined to Mexicans or to United States, I have seen it in Europe and in other countries. It seem to me that in the U.S., graffiti is not the result of any one ethnic minority. It appears that graffiti is the love of the uneducated, ill-treated, hostile segment of the population and their revenge against the mainstream of society.

It is hard to admit or to recognize that in our great country there are many misunderstood, unfortunate people who are ill prepared, ridiculed and unjustly treated. Our competitive society and our institutions are not equipped to resolve the ills of this low level of performance so we prefer to shoot them. Please read Bill Boyarsky’s column (March 19) to determine if justice prevails.
