Bertrand Deleray Mouron Jr., 61, commissioner of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. A third-generation Californian who was born in Hollywood, Mouron attended Claremont Men’s College and Cal State Los Angeles and earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi. In his law practice, he specialized in eminent domain cases and was among the first California specialists in environmental law. Mouron was a commissioner of the Los Angeles Municipal Court before taking a similar position, in which he acted as a judge with the agreement of all litigating parties, in Superior Court. Often tagged “the cowboy commissioner,” he was an avid historian and horseback rider who was active in the Desert Caballeros, the Cowboy Lawyers Assn., Vaqueros del Desierto, the U.S. Horse Cavalry Assn. and the National Rifle Assn. On March 23 in Pasadena of complications of a stroke.
