WORLD IN BRIEF : JAPAN : Cult Stashed Nerve Gas, Magazine Says
The Aum Supreme Truth cult, suspected of releasing deadly sarin gas in Tokyo subways last month, earlier stashed thousands of bags containing the nerve gas in the mountains, an informant reportedly told police. Police declined comment. Aum Supreme Truth has repeatedly denied involvement in the March 20 nerve gas attacks that killed 11 people and sickened 5,500. The cult also denies making sarin.
