Countywide : Red Cross to Host 8 April Health Fairs

Free blood pressure checks, vision tests and body-fat screenings will be included at the Red Cross’s 18th annual Health Fair Expo this month.
For a $25 fee, medical personnel will do blood cholesterol analysis or examinations for signs of prostate cancer.
Health-care professionals will be on hand at eight locations, beginning April 21, when the fair starts at the West Anaheim Medical Center, 3033 W. Orange St., between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Other locations and dates are:
* April 22, St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 12432 9th St., Garden Grove, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
* April 28, Huntington Beach Medical Center, 17772 Beach Blvd., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* April 29, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, 17100 Euclid Ave., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* April 29, Rossmoor Shopping Center, 12121 Seal Beach Blvd., Seal Beach, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
* April 29, Samaritan Medical Center, 654 Camino de los Mares, San Clemente, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* April 29, Oasis Senior Center, 800 Marguerite Ave., Corona del Mar, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
* April 30, St. Boniface Catholic Church, 120 N. Janss St., Anaheim, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Though it does not replace a regular annual checkup by one’s personal physician, the expo promotes preventive health care and encourages taking action toward better health, said Kara Lakkees, a Red Cross spokeswoman.
