BOYLE HEIGHTS : Panel on Hunger to Hold Hearing
- Share via
Residents are invited to give opinions and suggestions on coping with hunger in the city at a special hearing Thursday at the Hollenbeck Recreation Center.
The Volunteer Advisory Council on Hunger will take testimony from people affected by hunger and those who work to make food accessible in the community, said Carolyn Olney, associate director of the Interfaith Hunger Coalition.
Recommendations from this hearing and five others held throughout the city will be turned over to the City Council and the mayor in the process of creating a
city hunger policy, Olney said.
The focus of the hearing will be nutritional education and needs, but members of the public may speak on anything having to do with hunger, Olney said.
The hearing is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, (4/20) at the Hollenbeck Recreation center, 415 S. St. Louis St.
Information: (213) 913-7333.
