WORLD IN BRIEF : IRAQ : Diplomat Barred From Americans

Share
From Times Staff and Wire Reports

For the third straight day, Iraqi authorities refused to let Polish diplomat Ryszard Krystosik visit two Americans imprisoned near Baghdad. Iraqi sources say his visits have been cut back to once every two weeks. Washington does not have diplomatic relations with Iraq and uses Poland as an intermediary. It was not clear why the Iraqi authorities cut back the visits to David Daliberti, 41, of Jacksonville, Fla., and William Barloon, 39, of New Hampton, Iowa. They were arrested March 13 and sentenced to eight-year terms March 25 for illegally entering Iraq from Kuwait.
