Kerkorian Reportedly Made Earlier Offers: Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian gave Chrysler Corp.’s top executives a chance to pocket about $100 million each in a buyout offer for the auto maker last November, the Detroit News said Friday. Kerkorian proposed similar offers twice since then, before his $22.8-billion hostile takeover proposal last week, the newspaper said. Gary Wilson, the former Walt Disney Co. executive who helped engineer the leveraged buyout of Northwest Airlines in 1989, was said to have given Kerkorian advice on the offers, but a spokesman for the airline denied Wilson was involved. Meanwhile, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., the New York leveraged buyout firm, said it has no interest in assisting Kerkorian with the proposed takeover.
