THOUSAND OAKS : Students Show Their Colors in Art Contest

Share

The kindergarten through sixth-grade Conejo Valley students were asked to color in a picture showing a frontier couple with their daughter and smiling dog.

Most of the artists stuck with tradition and colored within the lines.

A few, however, took a more--if unintentional--modern approach and colored outside the lines.

From the looks of the 68 entries hanging in the Wells Fargo Bank branch in Thousand Oaks and entered in the Conejo Valley Days annual Art Contest, the judges today are going to have a hard time picking a winner.

“Of course they’re all wonderful,” said bank spokeswoman Ellen Knifsend. “They’re the best I’ve seen.”

The winner of each of the three age groups will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond and a trophy. Second-place winners get a “Jack the Dog” stuffed animal while third-place finishers will be awarded the brass Wells Fargo Bank agent’s badge.
