CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY

Premed Junior Wins $30,000 Scholarship

Chapman University junior Kristina Cordasco has been awarded a $30,000 Truman Foundation Scholarship, considered to be among the most prestigious in the United States. Cordasco was one of only three Californians to win the honor.

Established by Congress in 1975, the Truman Foundation grants scholarships to 85 students each year who are seeking careers in public service and demonstrate outstanding leadership potential.

To win the award, Cordasco, a premed student from Upland, described a public policy proposal that would link children’s health insurance to their school districts.
