Chrysler Latch Replacement Expanded: The auto maker said about 500,000 of its 1995 minivans are affected by the decision to expand its rear-door latch replacement program. In an agreement with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler Corp. last month agreed to replace the rear-door latches on all 1984-94 minivans. The expanded agreement is expected to conclude an 18-month government investigation without a recall of the vehicles. Chrysler took a pretax charge of $115 million in the first quarter to replace latches on the 1984-94 minivans. It did not say whether an additional charge will be taken to fix ’95 models.
