Obituaries : Ross A. Brocato; Realtor, Camarillo Resident

Camarillo resident Ross A. Brocato, 82, a former state director of the National Assn. of Realtors, died of natural causes at his home Wednesday. He was 82.

Brocato was born in Natchitoches, La., but spent the first 18 years of his life in Sicily. He returned to the United States in 1930 and managed his family’s produce stand at the Los Angeles Farmer’s Market.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and saw combat action in the Pacific, where he received three bronze battle stars. He received his real estate license in 1955 and sold property until his retirement in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Brocato of Camarillo; daughter, Donna Kimber of Camarillo; son, Frank Brocato of Encinitas; sister, Dora Difatta of Los Angeles; brother, Charles Brocato of Portland, Ore.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
