Chief Named for Fidelity Insurance
* Patrick F. Stone has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. in Irvine. He will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the company’s underwriting subsidiaries on a national level. Stone was also appointed executive vice president of Fidelity National Financial Inc., the parent company. William P. Foley II remains chairman and chief executive of Fidelity National Financial. Stone was formerly president of Fidelity National Title Co. of Oregon. He joined Fidelity in 1989 when the company purchased the Portland operations of Western Title.
* Jay M. Fuller has been named president and chief executive of Victoria Mortgage Corp. in Irvine. He was previously executive vice president and chief administrative officer for American Residential Mortgage in La Jolla.
* James B. Schallert has been selected as president and chief executive of Western United Insurance Co. in Newport Beach. He joined the company from Financial Indemnity Co. in Burbank, where he had been president since 1991.
* Paul Johnson has been appointed vice president of operations for Pacific Gateway Homes in Aliso Viejo. He will manage market research, new product development, project management, purchasing and sales and marketing. Johnson was formerly a project manager for the Fieldstone Co. and director of project management for the Santa Margarita Co.
* Joan Marcus-Colvin has joined Interior Specialists, an Irvine design center, as contract sales director for its Orange County division. She formerly was vice president at Paradise Interiors and before that, worked for McDonnell Douglas.
* Bruce Schafer has been named vice president for medical risk management at FHP International Corp., a Fountain Valley health maintenance organization. He was previously senior vice president for claims and risk management for the Washington State Physician’s Insurance Assn.
* Gary Odegard has joined the advertising and public relations firm Shafer as vice president, general manger, public relations. He will direct public relations services for the Orange County and San Francisco offices. Odegard formerly was senior vice president of the public relations firm of Hill and Knowlton and general manager of its Irvine office.
