Demise of the Dollar

Why all the hollering about the demise of the U.S. dollar? (“And Will You Be Paying in U.S. Dollars or Real Money?” March 19). When we spent four weeks in England in the summer of 1992, the British pound was $1.95 and more. Sure it cost us, but it wasn’t that bad and we had a very good time. So let’s knock off the caterwauling.
