BREA : Picnic Tuesday Launches Older Americans Month

A picnic in Arovista Park on Tuesday will be the first in a series of city-sponsored activities in celebration of Older Americans Month. Seniors and others are invited to participate.

Live music and games are planned for the picnic, which will start at 10:30 a.m. Lunches will be sold.

Special events planned for the Brea Senior Center include:

* A display of memorabilia from the early 1900s, 10:30 a.m. May 8.

* Mother’s Day luncheon, 11 a.m. May 12.

* “Walk for Fitness” class, 9 a.m. May 19.

* “Avoid Medical Spend-Out” workshop, 11 a.m. May 24.

* “Golden Anniversary” luncheon for couples married 50 years or more, 11:30 a.m. May 30.

Arovista Park is at Imperial Highway and Berry Street. The senior center is at 500 S. Sievers Ave.
