Library’s Catalogue Computer Accessible

Share

Ending hours of thumbing through the Dewey decimal system, any bookworm with a computer and a modem will be able to access the Los Angeles Public Library’s catalogue by dialing a telephone number.

Beginning this week, the catalogue can be accessed from home or office by dialing (213) 623-6455 from a computer equipped with the proper software.

A guide for the dial-in-access is available at all 64 Los Angeles Public Libraries and can be obtained by calling Los Angeles Public Library’s Support Services at (213) 228-7560.

Through the new computer system, patrons will also be able to access book collections at other libraries in addition to the 1.2 million bibliographic records in the Los Angeles Public Library System.
