United Negro College Fund Walkathon

The United Negro College Fund is hosting its 13th annual fund-raising walkathon at 8:30 a.m. May 20.

The 4.5-mile course starts at Santa Barbara Plaza and then heads west to Rodeo Road, north on La Brea Avenue, east on Jefferson Boulevard, south on Crenshaw Boulevard, west on Stocker Avenue and north on Santa Rosalia Drive back to the plaza.

The event is expected to raise $200,000; $160,000 was raised last year. It is sponsored by Pacific Bell, Southern California Edison Co., Robinsons May, Hitachi, American Airlines and Just for You Towing.

Participants must check in between 7:15 and 8 a.m. with sponsor sheets and pledge monies.
