Executive Denies Kickbacks at Honda: An American Honda Motor Co. executive, testifying in the kickback trial of two former executives, denied that the company was involved in the alleged scheme. Sherry Cameron, vice president of human resources, was responding at a U.S. District Court hearing in Concord, N.H., to questions about an internal document that mentioned an apparent desire to “protect the company.” Cameron said she interpreted the phrase to mean that Torrance-based American Honda should do “the right thing” in an internal investigation into allegations of wrongdoing. Cameron conducted a probe aimed at determining which American Honda employees were accepting money and gifts in the 1980s, when Hondas were in hot demand and short supply.
