At the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, a preacher urged the 2 million Muslims gathered on the sacred summit of Mt. Arafat to spread their faith in a peaceful manner. But hours after the pre-dawn prayers by white-robed worshipers, Iranian pilgrims reportedly held a forbidden rally, chanting “Death to the United States! Death to Israel!” The rally was reported by Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency. Reporters were kept away from the rally area in the desert.
