Fifteen men have died in police custody in Egypt since 1993 and apparently were tortured, an international group of lawyers said Monday.

All the men were held without charge, and no official investigations were conducted into their deaths, said the Center for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers.

The Geneva-based group named only one prisoner and did not say why the men were detained. The government had no immediate comment.
