Computer Sciences Wins Big Lucas Industries Pact: The El Segundo-based vendor of computer services said it won a $750-million, 10-year contract to run the data-processing operations of the British aerospace concern. In addition, Computer Sciences will acquire from Lucas two computer-related businesses that have combined revenue of about $75 million. The Computer Sciences announcement came just after its archrival, General Motors’ Electronic Data Systems unit, announced it had withdrawn from talks with Lucas. The agreement calls for the computer staff of Lucas, about 1,200 people worldwide, to transfer to Computer Sciences over the next few months.
