Chapman General Hospital Names Business Development Director

* Trish Bartel has joined Chapman General Hospital in Orange as director of business development. She was formerly director of marketing and strategic planning at Saint John’s Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica.

* Charles E. Moran has been named president of Irvine-based National Education Corp.’s corporate training subsidiary, National Education Training Group in Naperville, Ill. He succeeds Robert Soto, who has resigned. Before joining the company, Moran was chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Softdesk Inc., a software company. Earlier, he was president and chief operating officer of Sytron Corp., a data management software company, and vice president of sales for Archive Corp. in Costa Mesa.

* John R. Bonne has been named senior vice president and general manager of Sharp Digital Information Products in Irvine, and a member of the board of directors of Sharp Microelectronics Technology Inc. Bonne joins the company from Sanyo Icon, a subsidiary of Sanyo Electric Corp., where he was president and chief executive for five years.

* Leilani Smith has been appointed vice president, public relations at Roberts, Mealer & Co., a Santa Ana advertising and public relations agency. Before joining the agency, she was manager of marketing communications at Conner Peripherals Inc.’s tape products group, a manufacturer of computer storage systems.

* Myron R. Schuster has been named vice president of personal trust administration for First American Trust Co. He will be based in the Newport Beach branch. Schuster was previously vice president and trust administrator for First Interstate Bank of California.

* Dames & Moore, engineering and environmental consultants, appointed three new vice presidents in its Santa Ana office. They are Duane W. Blamer, a senior geologist; Jim J. Kang, a chemical engineer, and John P. Masek, an engineer specializing in seismic analysis and retrofit design.

* Donald G. Herrman has been named executive vice president of Pacific Gulf Properties Inc., a Newport Beach real estate investment trust. He had been senior vice president. Herrman retains his titles of chief financial officer and secretary of the company. Before joining Pacific Gulf Properties, he held various executive management positions at Santa Anita Realty Enterprises Inc., most recently as vice president of finance.

* Roger J. Niez has been appointed senior leasing associate for Investment Team Concepts in Irvine, a real estate and property management company. He will be responsible for the industrial, retail and office portfolio. Previously, Niez was a commercial specialist with Bishop Hawk of Southern California.

* David Pinto, controller of Irvine Sensors Corp. in Costa Mesa, has been named to the additional post of treasurer. Pinto joined the company in 1984 as controller, after having been assistant corporate controller and a division controller at Glass Containers Corp.

* Richard L. Henander has been appointed vice president of finance, chief financial officer and treasurer for Gold Express Corp., a Newport Beach telecommunications company. Previously, he was chief executive and chief financial officer for Test Group Inc., a microcircuits testing company. Before that, Henander was senior vice president of finance, secretary and treasurer of Sigma Circuits Inc. and senior vice president of finance and treasurer of InteCom Inc.

* Fred Parker has been appointed vice president, marketing for Earle M. Jorgensen Co., a Brea metals distributor. He was previously head of European operations.

* A. Frank Beaz has been named a senior vice president of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Equitable Companies Inc. He joined the company in 1993 as vice president responsible for strategic planning for insurance operations. Beaz, based in Irvine, is now responsible for re-engineering efforts in the areas of underwriting and life insurance administration, and all life, health and disability income administration. Earlier, he was managing director and chief operating officer of the Strategic Planning Group, a financial planning services company.

* Lisa Zwick has joined Maples & Associates, an Irvine public relations firm, as account supervisor. She was previously an account executive at Shafer.

* George Zimmerman has been appointed chief scientist for PairGain Technologies Inc., a Tustin telecommunications company. He was previously with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.

* Keith Braesch has joined Simple Technology Inc., a Santa Ana computer products manufacturer, as vice president of marketing. He was formerly product marketing manager for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc.

* Alina Llera Leathers has been named vice president and professional liability practice leader for the Costa Mesa office of Johnson & Higgins of California, an insurance broker. Previously, she was Western region manager and vice president with Willis Corroon Financial Services Corp.
