TWA a Long Way From Recovery: Trans World Airlines Inc.’s top executives are canvassing the country this week to win support for a critical debt restructuring plan, but the carrier will still be riddled with problems even if the program is enacted. Although the airline’s financial and operating performance have improved from its poor 1994 results, TWA remains saddled with a weak route structure, a lack of cash and an aging fleet, analysts say. TWA’s management is meeting this week with creditors and bondholders to seek their backing for the plan.
