LOS ANGELES : Unemployment Rules Changed for Veterans

Share

Veterans who were discharged from the military between Oct. 1, 1993, and Dec. 4, 1994, and were denied unemployment benefits may now be eligible, a state official announced Thursday.

People who left the military for a reason that did not previously meet the “through no fault of your own” clause--such as not meeting military weight control standards--were turned down for the benefits, said Suzanne Schroeder of the state Employment Development Department.

For a re-evaluation, veterans should go to their nearest EED office, she said.
