Japanese Consortium to Build Power Plant: The $1-billion power project will be at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh state in southern India, the Financial Express newspaper said. The coal-based project is being jointly promoted by London-based Hindujas group and National Power, Britain’s largest power utility. The two companies signed an agreement with the Japanese consortium, led by Sumitomo-Mitsubishi, in London, the newspaper said.
