Lately we’ve been hearing all about the cuts proposed by Congress to balance the budget. Cuts in food for our children, cuts in education for our youth, cuts in the health of our parents and grandparents, and cuts in the help for the victims of tornadoes, earthquakes, crimes.

To reduce the debt of our beloved nation and help preserve the important programs which are the targets of Congress, we can send $20, $100 or more to the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Public Debt, Washington, D.C., 20239-0001 for deposit into the account specifically earmarked for this purpose: “Gifts to Reduce the Public Debt.” Your check should expressly allocate your donation to the reduction of our national debt. Your donation will be accepted, gratefully, under the provisions of Public Law 87-58.

The budget crisis demands our immediate attention. Let’s all contribute now and not burden our and future generations with this huge debt, and help save the programs that truly guarantee our nation’s better future.
