Population Growth Cut Sharply, Iran Reports

TEHRAN —
Iran has cut its annual population growth in half over seven years to 1.75%, an Iranian official said Monday.
Deputy Health Minister Hossein Malekafzali said that more than half the fertile women in Iran are using some kind of contraception distributed free by the state.
