Golf Tournament Will Benefit Senior Center

Share

South County golfers can swing away for charity next month in the fourth annual Ross Cortese Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the Laguna Hills Senior Center.

Sign-ups are being accepted now for the Aug. 4 event, which will take place at the Leisure World Golf Course. A slot in the tournament costs $200 with a discounted entry fee of $50 for seniors 65 years old and older.

The Laguna Hills Senior Center is one of the busiest in Orange County, serving 2,100 meals each month through its Meals on Wheels program. The center serves the large senior community in the area with a variety of social, health and educational programs.

A banquet in Leisure World Clubhouse 2 will follow the tournament. The cost is $35 for the general public and $25 for seniors.

The guest of honor will be former County Supervisor Thomas F. Riley. Last year’s event brought in $41,000 for the senior center.
